This one seems to have been a slicer setting my e steps for some reason. They were set to 415 and I came up with something around 144 when doing another calibration. Don't know how it got set to that in the firmware, but it's fixed now.

Ok, so the part of the knowledgebase article about using a usb hub instead went right over my head. I just plugged in my hub, and plugged the printer into that, and this time it appears to be working.

Not sure of the actual brand name. Possibly Lebula? It's a 7" and worked out of the box without installing drivers. And as mentioned, continues to work as long as my printer isn't plugged into the pi.
