Two thumps up, it is working now. Thank you!
-
Very cool, I will try to install new firmware when the kids are in bed.
-
No, the extension board is not in use. I want to use it later, I am waiting for vinmicgra to release his solution for using both the extension and his display. But why is it not working then? If i use the firmware v92.2, everything works just fine. W…

It is not hardware, with the older version of the firmware clicking works. Just not with 92.6... in line 1671, UI_ENCODER_CLICK is set to 37 if feature_controller == controller_sparklcd (line 1621) in pins.h, line 180, ORIG_E3_ENABLE_PIN is set to 3…

I tried u8glib_ex.h from april for several prints. None of those had a problem with dry mode. I switched to RADDS and arduino due with sparklab lcd then, also no problem here.
-
OK, I will try that tomorrow.
-
Little update... I have been printing yesterday for 8 hours without dry mode problems. Only change was the display type.I will continue to print today, just to be sure it really works.
-
I checked the printer today, and the firmware is still v92.3, not v91. Something must have gone wrong while uploading v91. The problem is still present, changed the display to a 20x4 today (type 2 now instead of 11). Will try tomorrow if that helps.…

It seems that a lot of people don't have the problem with the newer v92 either. Perhaps there is some error on my arduino board, or it's some kind of interferrence with the power supply or or or...Next week, i can change electronics with my other pr…

Just a minute ago I was wondering why the printer sounded different....dry mode was enabled with firmware v91 while printing from sd card.
-
My configuration for firmware v92: http://pastebin.com/rc7pcJ9D
-
So far no problems with firmware v91...printed several parts today, all were ok, no dry mode today.
-
Yes, 0.92.3 from here: repetier.com/firmware/v92/. Compiling the firmware with Windows 8 and Adruino 1.6.5 made no difference, last night dry mode was enabled again while printing from sd card after about 100 layers. I am trying the older V91 now, t…

Ok so I found this in the log from today:2015-06-22 15:57:14,584 - SERIAL - DEBUG - Recv: Free RAM:3816 I recompiled the firmware on a windows 8 notebook with the latest arduino IDE today. Used the firmware configurator, changed just what is neccess…

Printer is derived from sparkcube, I posted some pictures here: PrinterElectronics is a Ramps1.4 with 5 DRV8825 stepper drivers, full graphic display. My Laptop uses Ubuntu 14.04, Arduino IDE 1.0.6. Where can I see how much free ram is available at s…

In commands.cpp you have case 111: // M111 enable/disable run time debug flags if(com->hasS()) Printer::debugLevel = com->S; which could be changed into case 111: // M111 enable/disable run time debug flags if(com->ha…

Time to go crazy... Several attempts with repetierhost worked, so I switched back to octoprint with echo and logging enabled. This time the extruder stopped again, display shows dry mode is enabled. But nothing special in the log, it rolls over at 1…
-
I am printing smaller parts with repetierhost now, so far no error...all parts were printed completely.
-
Today I tried to print a bigger file, and extruder did stop after only a few minutes. I was using octoprint this time, but unfortunately no log file. I tried to use Repetierhost from an old laptop I use for uploading the firmware. The gcode file is …

Well, it happened again when printing with octoprint. Unfortunately I had updated octoprint just before this print, and the setting for serial logging in octoprint was disabled by the update.....dooooh! Next try with logging enabled....I guess it wi…

Really strange... I have not been able to log the problem yet, the latest prints all finished flawless. Have been printing with repetierhost and from sd card, i am switching to octoprint now, will see if it happens again or not.
-
Could not sleep this morning. I installed repetierhost, configured everything and started a test print with the same part that had the problem with octoprint. The extruder stopped again, dry mode was enabled suddenly, but unfortunately i had not ena…

I am using octoprint most times, but I think the problem occured once while printing from SD-Card. I will try to enable logging, but not before tomorrow. And I will check printing from SD again.

I tried to increase DECOUPLING_TEST_MAX_HOLD_VARIANCE to 40. That did not make any difference. Extruder stops after a few minutes, no matter if pla fan is running or not. Heater temperature drops when pla fan is on, but it does drop not more than 15…
-
Well unfortunately i have been glad too early. The latest run switched to dry mode without pla fan. Octoprint shows that the temperature was within the range 209-211 during the whole print, 210 was the set point.
-
I will try to increase the second variable later on, thank you repetier. I did not read your post until now, my last answer was written without reloading the page.
-
Well the heater was not marked as decoupled, the temperature did not drop more than 20 degrees below set point. It should have been 210° and dropped to 195 when the pla fan came on. It only took 5, max. 10 minutes to switch into dry mode. No message…
-
OK so without pla fan the hotend temperature stayed where it was supposed to be. And no dry run this time, print was successfull!
-
Does the firmware switch into dry run under some conditions? I noticed that the hotend temperature dropped some degrees when the PLA fan came on, and it came back up to where it should be very slowly. Will it switch to dry run if hotend temperature …

So a quick test shows as follows:motor is not enabled after it happens, it can be turned by hand.M302 S1 does not helpchecked dry run in lcd display, was enabledafter disabling, extruder is enabled again, can be moved by octoprint. The item I tried …
