Little update I solved the leaning tower of pissa problem trued up the alignment much better, today my new MXL15T pulleys arrived so fitted those on the x,y, steppers, re-calibrated my x,y, steps per MM and after all that still see that annoying 1mm…

So basically to summarise, I reduced my z-axis acceleration and my z-axis travel acceleration from the 100 setting changing it to 30, and this has at least solved one problem of the left and right stepper motors from going out of synchronisation whi…

Skip to end of my last video to see what I found on my z axis

OK Im back live at the moment running a dry run tall print test to see if Z axis misses any steps or gets out of alignment during this long tall simulated print cycle.

Yes Repetier host and server

Will try and live feed the trouble shooting but have to be quick.

RAyWB said: do you use repetier host?there is an eeprom editor included where you clearly can see each setting.BTW z-axis acceleration seems too high , z-jerk should not be a negative value... with export file i just mentioned to save the dat…

Thanks Ray, so could I insert this into my G-code files for when ever I do a print ? Reason I ask is its not always noticeable on a short 10mm or 30mm tall print, mostly after printing something 100mm tall or subsequent prints, I know this might see…

I am considering making some drastic changes to my 3D printer as both Z axis threaded rods are driven by separate stepper motors and one motor is stronger than the other this causes a tilt on my Z / X axis which can effect prints being tilted also. …

Did more measurements printing a 2.4mm tall square their better but still slightly out maybe I should not complain as its about 0.7mm I think on Y-Axis.

I will be going live in a few minutes to try out the commandline square writing with a pen on 3DP

RAyWB said: well, i watched the livestream for a couple of minutes. seems the printers frame is quite weak at all.may be you try to get the frame more rigid.(looks like made from plywood so it should be easy makeable) for the pen test may be …

Repetier said: I have the feeling the circles inner/outer perimeter cross each other. There is one effect that may be a problem and that is backlash. With that head does not directly move only after x has moved a bit. A last thing that also c…

RAyWB said: simple suggestion:try to fix a pen or pencil to your hotend and draw a square. that´s much more precise OK so after running the Pen drawing test it has shown some opposite alignment issues which means I have moved something t…

OK I understand, well for the moment I am 3D printing some new brackets as I did find some tiny discrepancies in vertical alignment not that this is the cause of my problem but I want to remove any errors I can to better track down my problem see vi…

Thanks Repetier, but in this case I doubt it is the problem as only reason I did the calibration square was that taller prints were bigger on the left than the right. I know what your saying though think its referred to as elephants foot! I did take…

I made 2 video's doing some measurements on the problem. x,y, axis measurements Part one part two Michelle

I really am not very good at understanding Gcode would it help if I posted my gcode generated for the sliced square here ? it should not be a big file as I only printed about 2 layers to save plastic for the test print. Could the problem be caused b…

Thanks so much its working great now tested on cura and Slicr3 both centred correctly now thanks Michelle PS, I did make a donation in August to Repetier for £15 will try and send a bit more thank you.

Thank you for a quick response, before my x,y, min was set to minus -50 due to alignment issues with the virtual bed platter in software now I set x,y, min to 3 and max x,y, to 197 will test this but seems good so far at least in software plotting a…

I made a youtube livestream video about my problem
