I'll take a closer look at the SD upload. It was never involved in other efforts with V104.
-
In reading your post previous to the one above, you mentioned a change that would prevent uploading a file to the SD card. I have very little experience using an SD card, but when I checked out the SD card for the new printer, I noticed that you co…

SD card was present when I turned off the display and ETE transfer to printer. I don't know how I see free memory other than when it is compiled by the Arduino program. Do you mean in the Host log file? I'll check for that later. There is a war…

I tried FW104 on my printer. It's essentially identical except for having a second extruder. The results are the same, Job Killed. Log shows file error. I tried disabling the display in the FW and preventing RH from writing ETE to the display: n…

I haven't been able to find a conflict, but I am beginning to think there is an incompatibility with the display controller. It is a LCD2004 type, but of a different design than mine from 3 years ago. When I start a print, I often see a page showi…

I am going to have to put this on hold for a while. One printer to fix, one to get ready to hand off to a youngster, etc.I WILL get back to it within the next week or 2 or 3, most likely on my printer, which is a superset of the one that is having …

I didn't have time today to try anything on the printer, but I was looking at the Slic3r profile for printers, and noticed an option I had not seen before. It refers to set-and-wait command for bed and extruders. Apparently the check box is applic…

FWIW, there is no PWM fan on this printer. I left it in there because it will likely be added. I added the config.h file from an Apr. 2017 release to the folder with the logs. The fan definition is the same, and that FW works OK. You can compare…

I created a config.h file for the FW I am using on my printer, dtd April 17 2017 from the config.h I created for the V1.0.4 build and compiled it with the 04/17/17 pkg. I used notepad++ to compare the files and make changes to the config.h that I …

I repeated the test. The new log file is in the same link. The log files i made and saved were different than ones I had seen earlier, and I found that I had switched printers somewhere along the way and that resulted in a difference in the log file…

They are here, along with the FW I used to test.https://1drv.ms/f/s!AoMNMLsOFAgFkdV1rUnZODCH2G9hagI used the same model and printer setup in RH for testing in both FW versions of Repetier FW.

I compared the config.h files between the one used for V.92 and V1.0.4, and the differences were as expected. I loaded v104 two times, toggling the eeprom flag on the second try. The results were identical. I loaded a model, sliced it and then …

I never did anything with the EEPROM, but I checked it to verify the steps/mm and PIDs were as expected. I didn't find any way to view the EEPROM data in R Host. It's reading data item is greyed out in my version of Marlin. After reloading and pr…

You have answered my main question, and that is that there aren't any other similar reports. I think I'll just load the FW I have been using on my printer. It is from April 2018, and the only difference in the printers is that mine has two extrude…

As you suggested, removing the Z commands from the Sel/Desel strings did indeed fix the problem. Many thanks!

I will remove the Z commands from the Sel/Desel strings, and I'll try it. I never did any serious coding, and being retired for almost 20 years hasn't helped; so most of of the code went over my head. But, when I saw the Raise Z on Tool Change p…

I compared the config.h file from both sets of FW using the COMPARE plugin to Notepad++. The 2017 Dev and current FW are different, but there is only one difference that I wonder about, unless there are a lot of new parameters added to EEPROM. The…

I'm not sure if this will fix the condition the OP mentions above, but I was a bit upset when the default display screen was changed from the original. I missed seeing the filament usage and the buffered commands, as well as the clean display of te…

I'll second both of the above comments. V2.0.1 is an improvement over v2.0.0, but it is still inferior to V1.6.2. And, I'll also second the comment that it is generally unpleasant to use because of the glaring abundance of bright white pixels. …

Sorry for the delay, I don't get a notice about new posts, and thought the thread might be dead. I don't know anything about Simplify 3D. The printer firmware does most of the work. If you use Simplify 3D rather than Repetier Host to drive the pr…

Repetier said: I think you mean the print status with filename and progress bar. That is something printer vendors really like as it shows things a novice can understand. Actually it is the firmware showing this - only thing is host know know…

There is another thing I forgot to mention, and that is the fact that V2.0 changed information displayed on my printer during a print. I didn't look hard enough to see if there was a way to disable it. I like to see what is going on in the printer…

Good news indeed, I'll be looking forward to the next release. The contrast thing is an easy trap to fall into; it seems to be popular recently, and those implementing it probably have the eyes of a 20-year-old. There is a similar but opposite trap…

I generally like the look of the manual controls in V2.0 and the general icon design. However, I find the use of at least some of the manual controls is inferior to V1.6. The ones I stumbled with were the pushbuttons to turn on/off the bed heater …

kkava said: The previous version (1.6.2?) worked fine. It's gone now though... I wasn't expecting it to be uninstalled without prompting. If you are using the Windows version and it is really gone and not available on other sites, send me a …

I have to agree with most of the comments of ruggb above. I don't have an issue with font sizes as much as I dislike, correction -- detest, the overall reduction in contrast, and thus readability, of the page. I have seen this lately in other app…

Somehow or other I managed to delete the link. Here's a new one.https://1drv.ms/w/s!AoMNMLsOFAgFj-AnywOk94qGBizVrg

That's good news. Maybe I can switch to editing the online copy with Word that I have here, somewhere. Recent test prints that are manually patched are looking a lot better. I haven/t tried a two-part model sliced with Cura yet.

Here's a OneDrive link to something that has a long way to go:https://1drv.ms/w/s!AoMNMLsOFAgFj99cEhsDzn3-TsOkZwIt is in .DOC format, and likely a very old one since I exported if from an old version of MS Works word processor, which I am using to w…

One way that would work is to post an outline on the forum and include a link to the whole document. I have both Dropbox and Onedrive available. I can use MS Word or an .RTF format; I don't know what is best for the most users. I'll try something…
