Lower speed limit

I'm trying to do printing in free air and for that I would like the printing speed to be quite low (below 1 mm/s). However, if I decrease the feedrate the printing speed does not decrease anymore after a certain value. Does anyone know where this lower speed limit comes from and how it can be changed?
Note that I have found a minimumSpeed variable in line 249 of printer.cpp (firmware code), but I am not sure if this is what I am looking for...

    There is a minimum speed that can not be lower for some mathematical reason. Probably what you found. This formula contains acceleration as only parameter, so change acceleration if you need to go even lower.
