Corexy End stops and Home
MY CoreXY Setup
ramps 1.4 Full display generic, 8825 drivers
2 extruders bowden
2 1.8 80 oz motors and 1/32 step and 16 gears (400 steps)
3 0.9 65 oz motors z access 8mm tr2 screw (6400) steps (8825 stacked) fan on the stack
X & Y width is 550MM Max print area is about 500mm
Z travel is 660MM max
Using NO end stops with led
Keep in mind every thing top down CoreXY and the bed travels down when printing :>)
Seems Like home 0,0,0 should BE top / left Front for X & Y
and Z should be all the Bed should be all up stopping just short of the extruder end tip
will setup the z probe later
are the Min Considered Home End stops?
and max are as far the print area allows
MY home end stops are located
X and Y Top front Left ( is this correct read in one place Y is front and x is in back ?)
Z is just below X & Y triggered by the bed (just below the extruder tip)
Using NO end stops with Led see below they signal through ground and lit when closed
do i need?
The pullup True
hardware true
been playing manually with the end stops closing them and watching on M119
and it seems like the 2 above don't do any thing except cause more headaches.
I read some place that for the End stops being normally open they should be the MAX
should my home ends stops be wired to the MAX terminals
also there is no bump off when the NO is closed?
just realized these only work through the NO there is no NC wire only come with 3 wires

Got this working Now all end stops (home show) L when open and H when triggered they are in the Min Position
getting closer to a print.
is there a way to see the max end stops i have a z max endstop?
Z Max endstop does not show on the M119 report
Can move left right front and back and need to figure out why they wont move back, when it hits the end stops.
Just noticed when selecting X home x it moves (Y) home but is stutters (motor is trying to move Y but is already far left) and when homing Y it moves (X) home correctly even bumps back (this maybe due to repetier having X inverted in config as I verified that X and Y end stops are on X & Y Min

you have max Z endstop dissabled

might be a bit low for your endstop type. Test how much you need to go back to uncheck the endstops.
my z axis that was homed. at the start of print, the Z axis is traveling (down) away from the extruder, some 230mm out of 660mm then stopped no X Or Y movemnt (nothing now) Zmax=660mm all the way down
noticed that manual could not move any of axis after doing the changes above hardware and back on home
bit they did home and back off
says idle and this is the last line
X 200 Y 200 Z 20.150 E:0.0000
which seems odd as x&Y did not move and z is at 230?
it will then home correctly, however if i home X or Y stutters then stops odd

Z works
tried a print test cube
turn on extruder temp
start print goes to print then the gantry sits still while the screen fills then finish off extruder only issue is not moving the gantry while print is filling the screen sits in same spot ?

Always check log with problems. If printer does not move firmware might have activated ignoring everything until M999 for an error reason.
Repetier: Not sure what you mean by invert X in host but that has no influence on firmware.
Sorry for the confusion that was in Repetier printer config :>) after several more config H changes no longer have to check that box.
For some reason my z end stop quit working, had been working on Z Min now min is the max end stop. Maybe the input is shot. Turned off all the min false and using MAX now all true. Very odd issue.
I am still trying to get X & Y end stop to work and move back, issue. See Below.
Perspective: Motors are in back as viewed from the front gears facing down and the belts and pulley are facing down, Extruder is facing the base plate.
My controls as viewed from the Repetier manual control:
X moves front to back
Y moves left and right
Z goes up and down
My home switches are X&Y left front side My Z end Stop is at the top with the base plate up=Home
eventually after get everything working will add the capacitive sensor
IF I chose to home X it homes Y, this is the same for Y moves X instead of Y
then x goes right and the Y goes back?
Maybe I am overthinking this but if X and Y and Z are moving correctly in manual as referencing Repetier controls.
inverting the controls has not really worked
Wondering if this is due to the Corexy being upside down I know other people have done this style and design.
DO I have every else backwards and maybe in manual they should all be reversed?
Should left be right and back be front?

tried to dry run no extruder again, ODD thing when printing the cube the z axis starts down and keeps going down when it was homed at the top. stopped it half way about 400mm and then rehomed Z to the top
for some reason it wants to go to max distance or seems like it wants to go alll the way down to 660MM wondering if this specified someplace don't see anything about go this distance at slicer print for Z?
You said homing is bed at top touching nozzle, so that is z min homing.
You must therefor assign z max endstop (the one where you connected it to) to z min. Homing direction is -1. If this now goes to wrong direction invert z motor direction in config.
I think you have configured zmax to home to zmin position therefor everything moves wrong after homing.
but only z max with work the end stop home Z Min will stop z from moving if closed while Z is moving
these two were 9999 changed to zero

these end stops are all Normally open and closed on contact see at the top what they look like.
these end stop wires are only 3 wire to the ramps 1.4 so NC is not used.
X & Y end stops hit and back off
But Z only back off on Z max
tried turning everything but Min Off no dice either, then none of the end stops work.

Having similar issue.
I think its the driver pots. My machines new too.
Driver pots
Steps per mm
Accleration
Feedrate.
Problem is is, if you dont have a proper steps per mm, accel and feedrate, how can you tune the pots.
So im thinking tune by touch but ive also had my motors do this at different volts so then its the steps per mm, accel and feedrate.
Just annoying.
In doing same as you, beating my head off the wall.
No one can give out a simple settings that works for your machine. Its stupid.
I bet people with exact same machine have checked this and couldve posted the fix but thought na let him do it hard way like I did.
I been asking for atleast 2months how to set mine up and just same crap, wrong settings sent and advice off people who dont got a clue.
A list with suitable setting for your machine is to much to ask for.
mine is XY axis on 12mm rails with pulleys this is a COREXY system i using system 1 with homing switches
this design has 3 Z motors with lead screws about 660MM high and 550mm for X&Y travel
the #17 stepper motors are set in the rear and are upside as are the rails.. made my left front as XY zero and Z zero should also be at the top as the bed moves up high at start then down because is is 660 up high to be near X& Y zero
since the motors and pulleys and rails are upside down i think in terms of the repetier manual screen , see photos below
those are equivalent to 1000g over each motor one time my 8 pound cat jumped on the bed did not have any issues with the extra weight cant imagine every making an 11 lb 3d part maybe someday
since there are 3 z motors installed 3 limit switches for one each z motor but i am having enough issues just getting 3 limit to home thinking of changing out my ramps 1.4 and 8825 drives for something note the pot lid is my extruder heat-sink until i mount it
May rework the gantry as my belt mounting system works but the belts dont always run parallel to the very ends
the extruder mount is designed for 3 extruders the z probe could be mounted there but is behind the mounting plate see the single hole for the zprobe today plan to try and figure out the homing limit switches have to see where i left off.
z always works the x or y is backwards and z home wants to travel down for some reason think that is where i was the last time. :>) really think there should be limit config too many setting in too many places, easy to lose track of where you left off last time. my steps per mm is ok it is these machinical limit switches driving me crazy just when i think i have it something else runs in reverse.
got xyz to home loaded the 20mm cube press print the Z access is headed down a lot, had top press the eStop?
how do i tell it Z is already in position at home?
it wont print with Z traveling down, any ideas?

well it does home to zero, but for some reason when i say print it wants to drop too far below the extruder by about 300mm or more never stops?
my thought was to make Z min Zmax (since x,y and z home are all at or near the top of the baseplate (0) at Z home. and put z min at the bottom about 660mm below X,Y I suspect the same issue.
maybe test on Wednesday, test z min and Z Max
Z min does home to zero and bump and move away form the stop.
think i need a stop at each end of Z to prevent damage to the Z travel.
if you move your bed close to extruder to home its ZMIN
if you move it away from extruder it´s ZMAX
so if your endstops are at top of your machine thex are zmin endstops
if they are at bottom of your machine it´s zmax endstops
from your configuration:

youre homing to zmax , so endstops should be located at bottom of machine.
if your endstops at top of machine (i guess they are there) change to
#define Z_HOME_DIR -1 (that´s homing to zmin)
and invert motors direction

while i was driving was pondering this i remember, still have the z probe to install. (replaces Z min? )
have to do some research as i have read many variations on its use and wiring
from your momentary configuration machine thinks it is at zmax after homing...
thats explains moving away from Extruder as zmin is far away...
manuallyu testing zmin hits stops and backs off.
however Zmax show L Open or H held closed with m119
and with H being hit wont stop the travel from above?
so played with it a bit,
Changed max software endstop Z to true gave it g1 z 100 while moving it, pressed the zmax endstop and it stopped seems to ignore it when going to zmin is that normal?
the 2nd issue Y
when i try to home it to zero after homing X it does not home just does a jitter until i hit estop
tried a print again but now the issue is the y gitter keeps bumping until i hit estop (the Y end stop is lighted)
homing order is XYZ
they are all working, missing something

G28 X

g28 x homed
G28 y home then jitter THe 1st and 3rd attempt
the very 1st time Y jittered the 2nd time it worked and the 3rd time Y jittered
why does it work some time and not others
videos are too large
the 1st time i had to estop as y was jittering
2nd time every thing worked
3rd time Y jittered Estopped again
G28 X homed 2nd time
G28 Y jittered (2nd Home) 3rd Jittered
G28 Z home 2nd time
G1 X100 F500 moves out and stops 2nd time

swapped out the switch , hopeful realized that my Y carriage i had to add a stop to the end of it to hit the switch
maybe it was not enough contact out so added a 3mm nut (adds the width of the nut) pushing it out a little further?

is there a way to repeat a command like G28 Y *10 for 10 repetitions?
adding the nut (thickness) may have worked (also swapped out switch) got 2 in a row no jitters
so if i tell it to move 100mm is that equivalent to 4" or do i have to calculate / divide by the number of steps (400) steps or something else
