Yes, sensorless depends on speed a bit. If you have reduction factor 1 no improvement can be achieved by testing twice. Just have published the above fix to skip retest if retest distance is 0. But that means signal gets reset quite quick and no extra actions required. That is good.
Difference X to Y might be belt length and longer belt would mean softer interruption on crash for detection. Maybe just enough to prevent with slower speed.
