Cartesian - Homing ignores limit switches after G32

Hi 
I have a cartesian printer that has worked well for a while (3 years)
I added a Z probe 
I have calibrated Z and the probe as per the manual

The manual is very confusing at the point G29 has been issued. I want to transform the plane on a catresian bot. The manual goes on to say G29 is no longer relevant and I should be using G32.

G29 seems OK, 

I issued G32 S2 to write the bed plane transform to EEPROM
Everything seems OK

If I then have a problem e.g.
            - heater decoupled,
            - z probing fail,
            - probe did not deploy,
           - I switched off and came back next day
            -phase of moon changed
           - etc 
The following scenario develops and won't go away after resetting firmware and restarting host

When I press "HOME ALL"
Homing starts (sometimes X is VERY slow, sometimes in the wrong direction!!!)
Z reaches end stop (at ZMAX) and stops all other axes.

The X and Y axes report in host that they are at 0.00, 0.00

The physical axes are about 100mm from the X and Y limit switches!

The software is NOT checking that X and Y home switches are triggered. It has in its silly little mind that it is at X0 Y0 and will not look at or believe its instruments (limit switches). 

Trying to press home again, nothing moves

resetting - the machine still believes it is at X0 Y0 (or there abouts) 

All very confusing

What am I doing wrong?
How do I get it to believe its limit switches once again?

  • Really confusing, so can not say that is that is the problem. Host has home position in settings so that is what you see if it fails and does not report position.

    Is a problem. Looks like you are just one step to close to border for activating it and then homing fails. Choose homing order with temperature (which is set to 0) then you can assign z probe a position for probing and should not have that problem. Hope the others also go away then.
