My stepper motors do not work

So i just downloaded thenrepetier host software/ firmware, and the printer is hooked up to the computer, and  i can manually move the printer with the axis buttons, but when i tell the printer to run the gcode the printer only uses the x axis resulting in the print only printing a line and getting balled up on the printer. i know that the printer works fine, but i think the software is not working properly, and i think it is how the calibration wassetup

    Manual moves and moves from gcode are identical, so there is no real reason to behave like that. Just make sure the gcode moves are inside your print area. That would be the only reason I can currently think of that it does not move one axis.
