Inkscape plugin produces duplicate gcode

Hi,

I've been using the Inkscape laser plugin for laser engraving. It basically works well. Than ks.

However I've been having trouble with the plugin producing duplicate gcode for some straight lines.

I have a very simple inkscape file and the gcode output that illustrates the issue (in DropBox)

You will note the code blocks repeat at lines 29, 57, 82, 107, 132, 157, 182, 207, 232, 257 etc.

Have you seen this before and perhaps have a cure?

I cleaned up the Inkscape files with SVG Cleaner before running the extension, to make sure deleted elements are not the cause.

Inkscape 0.91; Python 3.5.1, Windows X

  • Dear Repetier,

I think I have a clue - the Inkscape line that is excessively repeated has an excessively complex path, with many segment repeats.

The lines were created by importing a DXF into Inkscape. I'll see if I can find a way to simplify the paths.

Straight lines drawn directly in Inkscape don't share the problem.

  • All,

    Problem solved.

Hopefully this will help others who are using DXF imports into Inkscape to generate laser engraving.
