Z Axis Homes and Moves Down, But Won't Move Up Under Manual Control

edited May 2016 in Motor Control
I have a Prusa Mendel i2 that was working great under Sprinter/Pronterface. I uploaded Repetier Firmware to the Mega 2560. My Z axis properly moves to Home when the button is pushed in manual control. It will also move down when the down arrow is pushed. The problem is that it won't move at all when the up button is pushed.

Research suggests it has something to do with the endstops. Here is the current part of the Configuration.h file:

M119 Command returns: endstops hit: x_min:L y_min:L z_min:H  z_max:L

Any suggestions?

I'm running Repetier Host 1.6.1 on Win 8.1. RAMPS 1.4

Thanks!

  • Do you really have z min and z max endstops?
    #define MAX_HARDWARE_ENDSTOP_Z true

    says you have max endstop. I fthat gets high signal it won't go up.
  • Thanks. No, I don't have a z max endstop. I changed the setting to #define MAX_HARDWARE_ENDSTOP_Z false and uploaded it to the board. It worked until I disconnected. After reconnecting it stopped working. I've also noticed that my bed has disappeared from manual control and only reappears if I disconnect and restart Repetier Host.

    M119 Command now returns: endstops hit: x_min:L y_min:L z_min:H
  • When connected bed is only visible if M105 responses show a bed temperature, so it has autodetect of bed.

    With z min high you should be able to move up as long as you are below z length, check eeprom.
  • Please be more specific about the eeprom.
  • z length parameter stored in eeprom.

    Our host/server have an eeprom editor to check/change these parameters.
