Questions about dry run

Hi -

What g-code can cause the firmware to switch to dry-run mode? Also, what should I see in the log that reflects the firmware going into dry run mode? I have lately had the problem (92.8, mega, ramps1.4, corexy) that during a long print the printer will randomly go into dry run mode. I haven't seen any printer errors or decouple errors. What should I look for?

Thanks!

  • M111 is the only official command doing it. The lcd menu also has a option for it.

If it is decoupling/defect you also see it in the lcd as target temperature (dec/def). These are the only reasons to enable dry run while printing, but that should be accompanied with a reason.

For testing you could disable decoupling test setting decoupling time to 0.

Also run M104 to see if you get a temp. error report in log.
