Auto bed levelling vs distortion correction

Hello,

As far as I can understand.. Bed levelling creates a flat plane to correct for rotation where distortion correction measures individual Heights at points on the bed and corrects for them.

My question is whether or not we should be using auto bed levelling with distortion correction as surely any bed rotation will have already been measured by the distortion correction so the nozzle following the bed profile will also be following ant tilt.

Do we just add another set of measurements and a chance of inaccuracies with 2 correction systems working in parallel and possibly against each other?

  • You want the rotation to be fixed over the complete print so it works independently of z height.

Distortion correction is really meant only to fix bonding problems with bed and gets reduced to 0 over height. So targets are different and they should be used in combination or leveling alone if bed is flat enough.
