Printer halted kill() called!

Hello everyone, I registered on this forum in order to seek help for my problem. I purchased the Geeetech Mizar Max and I have always used repeater host to do my printing. my Anet a8 works very well with repeater host except with the Mizar Max, after a few seconds and manual manipulation of the axes, I keep getting an error message and the printer asks me to do a reset and I have to restart it. whether under Windows or Linux, the problem is always the same. Do you have any ideas to move forward with the resolution? Thanks in advance to anyone who can give me solutions :-)

  • This is an error from your printer firmware. Disable easy mode so you see communication at the bottom. I hope for you that you see the reason why printer firmware stops running. Typical reason is an error with heaters ot temperature sensors which can cause fatal problems so for safety the printer stops anything. What exactly is not visible from that error but is normally above that as additional info so you know what to fix.
  • I always deactivate easy mode and the bed and head temperatures are well captured and visible depending on the temperature. I have just started a print using the SD card and unfortunately I cannot do anything to inform you of the progress. in any case I thank you for your help and I will not hesitate to keep you informed of the situation as soon as I can ;-)
  • temperature reading is done well, I haven't received my 3d Touch yet, maybe that's where the error comes from? I updated the manufacturer's firmware.
here is what I get as a message under repeater after reconnecting:

    "14:20:03.195 : echo:Unknown command: "M80" ? i don't understand what that's mean :/

  • M80  - Turn on power supply

You can ignore that it is not supported. Your printer has no switchable power supply so does not need that command.
  • hello :-)

I think like you, I definitely sense a problem with the firmware because I tried other software like cura, simplify 3d, easy print 3d, ponterface, slice3r... I still have the same fault appearing and the printer has to reset. so I think that the problem comes from the printer and more precisely from the firmware.

I looked everywhere on the net and found almost no information on this subject and in particular on the Mizar Max, perhaps still too recent and geeetech hastened to put this machine on the market even though the firmware is not completed?

in the meantime, fortunately I can print using the sd card and I must admit that this printer is dark, quiet and prints really well. I will keep you informed of the evolution on my side, as well as with the exchanges that I will have with geeetech if it can help the community and why not other people who are in the same situation as me.

Thank you again for your help :-)

  • hello, any news regarding my problem. it was solved by installing a 3d touch bl, I felt that the problem was at this level because no function was present on the printer to validate the leveling of the bed manually. the Mizar Max must be recent because the manufacturer's 3d touch bl connectors are not compatible both on the card next to the extruder and on the motherboard, I had to pin the plugs between them. I hope they won't delay remedying this defect. It's a shame to have to go back to the piggy bank to avoid the faults that I encountered at the beginning.
  • I can not say much since we are not producing the printer and firmware, so can not say anything about connectors and touch sensors working. The missing M80 is no problem as said and you did not show communication log around the halt message which might show more informations, so no new ideas on that.

But good news that it was solved with a new touch sensor. Touch sensor could also cause a halt maybe if it goes into alarm state and firmware decides to halt preventing illegal motions.
