Z offset from Slic3r have no negative influence.

Hello everybody,

I have my little homemade 3d printer and everything works fine with Repetier except that :

For safety reason I like to set the Z endstop so the nozzle is around 0.4mm above the bed, in Slic3r I set a -0.4mm z offset and everything shoud be fine no? But the nozzle won't go to -0.4 mm. I can set a positive value and that work but not really usefull in my case...
I think there is a software limitation that won't allow me to go under Z 0 but can I change that I 've tried on EEPROM and repeiter Host but I can't figure out ...

Thanks for all the job done so far Repetier host and firmware are super cool and easy to use!

  • Firmware prevents going below z min endstop. That is why it is called endstop! Use a z max endstop instead. Then you home up and start with first layer height and not 0.
