No Start signal detected

Cannot get satisfaction from Repetier Firmware, Heaters continually drop out after 24 minutes into print so am trying Marlin for comparison to check for variations in functions.

However Repetier gives error message 'no start signal detected-forcing start'

So what start signal is it waiting for, and where is it generated from?? Please advise.

  • The start signal is a line containing

    start

which gets send on bootup of board or after reset. If your board doe snot reset on connect it is ok. Normally your baud rate is wrong if you have no valid responses in log after connection.
  • In repetier-firmware you can disable the decoupled test by setting test period to 0. I think this is what happens to you, because the parameter are not good for your setup. The log will show why which heater was disabled so you could optimize the settings.
