Ok ... looking again at this.. If I set the z probe height to .95, and homing the z axis from the printer panel, the nozzle just touches the bed, then if I send a g0 z10 then g0 z0, the z axis stops too far away from the bed. I home from the print…

Ok.. frustration has again taken over here... I have put all of the measurements aside and put a dial indicator against the bed, adjusted the z probe height until it touches the bed and does not move the indicator, that makes z0 actually 0 on the…

I am using Slic3r (tried Cura as well as going in a completely different direction with the software from MatterHackers)... Thinking i was setting this up correctly with the instructions i had.. I have been fighting this thing from the start... Afte…

I actually have all of the numbers written down... I made several "micro" adjustments to the z-probe height value and re-homed after every one.. got it to where the nozzle just touched the bed at Z0... Thought I was good to go.. I tried to print jus…

no apologies needed at all.. I appreciate you taking the time to assist... I am really new to this whole process, after i bought and started to assemble this unit, it looks to be a variant of the Tevo Tarantula (at least all of the parts look the sa…

That is actually not supposed to be a 90 deg overhang, it should be an arc, when the head hit the part, it skipped a tooth on the belt (did it twice on this part)

ok.. i reset everything using the commands above. I have a die that is 8.77 tall.. i disabled the steppers and checked the distance at several points on the board several times and adjusted the thumb screws a few times and got it setup to just pass…

Here is the pic.. This was "SUPPOSED" to be the Tarantula_MKS_Base_Offset_Mount the i found here https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2076166

ok.. i thought i had it figured out... I was able to print 1 part, but i think that was pure luck (i had a post with the pictures attached, but it is gone... i tried to print another part, and the issue of the first layer has returned.... when i h…

ok.. I COMPLETELY mis-read what you responded with ... Yesterday was a really looong day.. You said "First layer seems a tiny bit too high as the lines do not really touch. Try 0.05mm lower for z endstop. Do only small steps or it sticks like hel…

Well.. right back to square 1.... I ended up slicing several versions in .5 steps closer. The last step was slicing at .001. I am getting the same non sticking print first layer because (I think) it’s still too far up. The z axis read 00, but th…

correct.. i noticed this as well. I "thought" that may have been a raft, but i do not have the raft option selected. I peeled a layer off, and the infill on these first few layers does not seem to be enough..

I made no changes to the z steps/mm.. I did run though the process of marking the filament, extruding 100mm (while not going through the extruder) and retracting 100mm.. it appeared that I had 100mm of out as well as back in.

!! Printed my first part last night.. Although i do not believe it was because i corrected the first layer issue, i believe it was because I added a sheet of buildtak to the bed. I did learn though that the printer probably should not be on a portab…

since i am getting the same results with Cura (and from what I can find, Cura does not support 3 extruders). I am back to using slic3r. With no changes made, i re-sliced a .stl file. I am not in front of the printer right now, but I have my laptop w…

It seems I have the same issue no matter what I am running.. I cannot seem to get the first layer down correct.

One other thing I found is that for some reason the settings I choose do not stay selected. Usixng cura proper (not from within repetier-host). I selected the first layer speed, and try to select the first layer at .23. For some reason, when it p…

I am still not getting the first layer low enough, it lays the first layer down, does not squash it to the bed

i have started using cura (to see where it takes me)... for some reason, i tell it to print the part with extruder 2.. All other settings i can find are set to extruder #2. when this starts to print, it heats all 3 extruders and not just #2 Am i mis…

I just found the Cura engine last night and started to look into it. There seems to have been a step learning curve (for me anyway) with slic3r, I don't want to have to repeat all of the issues i have already had. I have a 3 extruder unit, so it to…

The first layer height in slic3r is set as .3 (i did not change that) and as far as I know there is no personal start gcode anywhere.

I must have something configured incorrect.... using Slic3r and .028 in the z-probe setting in the firmware. Setting the first layer in slicr3 to .3 and 200% with 0 in the Z offset for the configuration in slic3r, when I slice a print and look at th…

I have an inductive probe.. (seen here).. If i set a piece of paper under the nozzle, then set the probe until it triggers, then re-home the printer. there is .028 between the bed and the nozzle..i add .028 to the z-probe height in the firmware.. I…

Ok.. I have found a source for BuildTak (at my local MicroCenter) and i have a piece now. One thing that has kinda stuck in the back of my head through this process is a question. If my build layer is set to .2 and the first later set to .3 with a 2…

ok.. We have progress.. THANK YOU!! I now have a "Better" understanding of how this auto level process works and I have reset the bed size to 200x280 and the probe measures only on the bed ( i set the probe x2=166 and that is the edge of the board a…

I also measured the paper i was using and changed the z-probe height to .10 and changed the z probe x1=0 y1=0, x2=150 y2=0 and x3=0 y3=255. Now it seems to probe the entire bed with the probe on the bed (i still have the max x=150, would like to se…

i just homed everything... sent a g1 x50 y50 z10. G30 reads now Z-Probe:10.20 x:49.93 y:49:66

Ok.. I think i understand.. Ext #0 is actually the far right extruder, so my probe offset needs to be x20 y-20 since the physical probe is 20mm to the right and 20mm forward of the extruder. For the probing points, X0 Y0 is where the unit homes to, …

Extruder 0 is the one on the right. When I home all axis, this puts the extruder unit at 0,0 and extruder #0 as close to the outside edge of the bed as is physically possible, if i select extruder #2 in RH, the head would move to the right. in the a…
