repetier-server with "filament manager" function
Hey guys,
does repetier-server have any possibility to calculate / count down the filament amount or weight per spool, like octoprint does? maybe there is an plugin etc.?????
I like repetier so much better than octoprint, but this matter is important for me, so i also use octoprint for most of prints...
Thanks.

Could you as well think about a kinda scripting lang or markup used in the G-Code which is linking to the used filament for printing and automatically sets the extruder and bed temperature? That would make a real benefit when using different filaments and I don't have to look and service my notes in another textfile...
By the way: I really like your Repetier Software and use it every day. You do a very good job! Excellent.

Currently I have the feeling that nobody really took care about the complete way-of-working or process from design to final output... which is not a critic to you and your software and more general speaking... but this is another discussion ;-)
....when did you say are you officialising your next release...?! can't wait already.
Cheers and stay safe
is there an update regarding a way to manage filament? I am currently using Octoprint because I really appreciate the plugin for filament management, as the used material is automatically deducted from the roll live, even if the print job has been canceled once, and I always know exactly whether the material is sufficient for the print job.
Since I store my filament rolls in airtight boxes, I can't weigh them every time to check if the filament is enough. The "SpoolManager" plugin is perfect for me.
Now I get a second printer and I find the handling of 2 printers via Octoprint uncomfortable, I would like to switch to Repetier and even buy the Pro version here, but the lack of an option for automatic spool management prevents me from taking this step walk.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to a reply
I will wait for updates
Hey, there are some News?
As I do use Prusament I'd really love to connect the data sheet that comes with a spool to the prints by connecting a spool and a printer.
Also I'd be happy to be able to tell RS what Filament is loaded and get a warning if I mismatch gcode and the loaded filament... :-)
Thank you for your work!
I'm working on migrating from octoprint as I've had one printer at our store and one at home. Now I have two at home and even with the filament manager plugin it's awkward to track everything. Before purchasing my extra printer at home I just tracked by what filament I kept at what location and moved the info over when I needed it for a project. Now with two in one place that wasn't nearly as logical. Octoprint doesn't like using multiple printers at once so if have to have different instances with different tracking.
The software is amazing so far and while I'm currently on the trial I fully plan to purchase pro at this point. It's so worth it. This is the only feature I'm missing and I imagine the multiple printer instances can make it extra tricky. For now I'm just making a note of what spool is used for manual tracking in a spreadsheet.
Thanks for the information. This would be a nice feature, as it is hard to keep track of the inventory, especially when you have more than 3 different rolls of filament.
Custom moduels are already possible for quite a while, see modules definition
https://prgdoc.repetier-server.com/v1/docs/index.html#/en/modules/index
Example is the firmware uploader which is implemented as a module just like image rendering.
