Switching from Marlin to Repetier

I am considering switching from Marlin to Repetier. I have run the configuration tool. Can I simple upload the firmware and expect it to work (somewhat)? Also if I decide to go back to marlin can I just upload my old Marlin firmware without any trouble, or doing anything special to get it to work again?

    You should be able to switch back and forth. If using eeprom you should test eeprom values after upload, but normally repetier will see if it got changed and recopy form configuration.h. If not do
