Connect from Server to Printer over TCP?

Is there any way of connecting from the Server (pi) to a printer that accepts gcode / commands over TCP instead of serial? I know you can probably setup pipes and stuff but it seems like the Server program itself should have an option to connect over tcp since a lot of new printers have wifi and ethernet comms.

  • No this is currently not possible.
  • Hi, is this still the case?
  • TCP/IP is now possible. Select TCP/IP as connection method. Important is that it must be the telnet port to firmware that speaks same protocol as serial would do. Do not use the web port if printer has a web interface. For some firmwares you can define it even in configuration like reprapfirmware where I tested it with.
