My hard drive crashed. Lost everything

So I installed Repetier host  V 1.5.6  something different than I've been using. Think I  was using Geeetech ver. of Repetier. Back in June of 2015 I got a prusa pro c  and was all good till this re-install. Now I get this error
Serial com error:System.IO.Ports.SerialErrorReceivedEventArgs I can see that it does connect to printer bu no commands work at all. I hope that someone can help me. Thank you all for your time.

    Serial com errors normally show that something did go wrong during connection. Are you sure you are using right port? Does it vanish when you unplug printer? If not you might need to install the serial driver for the printer first to see correct port.
