Printer heating extruder and idling

I was just trying to print a simple bed leveling print and when i slice first i cant see anything in preview. head read it is to do with filament visualization but not sure how to do that but when i press print it just heats the extruder and then moves but goes straight to idle or says print finished even though nothing have been printed.
not sure what to do. any and all help appreciated many thanks Sam :)

    Sounds like it really did not contain print moves. You can see that also if you check the generated gcode. Look for G1 moves with E...

    If the object has thin walls they may go undetected depending on extrusion width. Sometimes the feature "Detect thin walls" in slic3r helps.
