loading files from usb directly to raspberry pi

Hello, hopefully I posted this in the right spot

Is there any way to upload g-code files from a usb connected directly to the raspberry pi? I am very new to coding, and the Raspberry Pi, and can't seem to figure out how. I have a Printrbot Simple Metal. Everything works, I can upload g-code through the internet, and my Printrbot will print. I can move the Printrbot manually, heat everything up, etc. and it all works fine, but sometimes I do not have internet connection, and would like to just insert a usb, and let it rip. Any advice helps. I have the latest version of repetier on the Pi as well, and I use Cura to post G-code.

I also tried this with putty, but it didn't seem to help:

I've been searching for a couple of days, and haven't gotten anywhere.

Thanks
