Watch directory

Is there a way to configure a watch directory in repetier server? I want to dump folders in this directory and they get auto added to the UI.

  • Yes, in the slicer manager you can set up watch directories. Select them as slicer and new files appear at the side to import with a single click.
  • Sorry, answer was for host:-(

In server we have something similar. In global settings->Folders you can add folders for quick import. In Print tab you see them in the upload dropdown (right edge of button). This will open a browser for import directly at that position. Usefull if you use e.g. dropbox/google drive or store them locally on the same folder.
  • Thanks that worked!!!
  • But how can you automatically import gcode files to a printer in Repetier Server?
  •  Repetier-Server Monitor has such a function. It will watch a special directory where it shows all groups and copying/storing a file to it will automaticall queue/print/store it depending on folder. The server it self has no automatic import/print/queue folder. In most cases this is on a remote machine where you have no direct access anyway. And if it is on a network drive it is hard to correctly monitor correctly and monitoring gets quite slow.
  • Hi There,

New here, but at the moment excited about your software!

I came across this thread indicating that it's possible to set up a type of watch-folder in repetier-monitor

This is a function I'm looking for, but can't find any documentation on how to actually set it up. Is this a function that was removed? (the last answer is from 2022).

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Thank you in advance!

  • On the pc running Repetier-Server Monitor you just define a watch directory in monitor settings. Then you get special folders and copying a file to it makes monitor upload it to the server.
  • Hi,

Thank you for your reply. Can you post a screenshot? I don't find that option. I am on osx. Does that make a difference?

  • It is in Basic Settings the Upload block. Just select which folder should become upload folder. Should be an empty folder when selecting it. For each printer connected to monitor it will then create some subdirectories.
  • Ah, great, I figured it out now. Thanks for the guidance. Especialy the note that the forder should be created empty.

    best,
