Install on Fedora 42?

Is it possible to install Repetier on Fedora 42?

I recently changed my main media server over to Fedora. It hosts multiple small servers so I also keep my repetier server install on it. I tried to install the server software for linux and realized Fedora isn't explicitly listed, I then tried to run some of the installers but I got stuck on it just trying to load the package installer. Every variation I ran acted the same. I can give you more information when I'm home near the server late tonight if need be. Fedora is my favorite Linux flavor as of late and I managed to get everything else installed and set up. I didn't have a ton of time to tinker with it but I was already unsure as Fedora wasn't listed. :(

I just don't want to waste a bunch of time fighting it if it's known not to work. Thank you.

  • It is actually only available as debian installer. The runtime is C++ with no link dependencies so it would run, installing is the problem. If you have somewhere a debian running you could install it there and then copy the /usr/local/Repetier-Server folder and the service file. Or run it from a docker container, also I never did it myself. I have no experience with fedora, so can say much about alternative methods to install debian packages.
  • Ok I may give docker a go then, thank you. I've only worked with docker a bit to run Immich so it'll give me something to play with.
