What has changed?

I have been using Rep version 1.5.6 for some time now and I upgraded to 1.6.0. After that everything I sliced in Slicer would over extrude. I checked all my settings. I even compared them to a laptop that still has version 1.5.6 on it. all are identical but version 1.6.0 over extrudes and my prints look like crap. I reverted back to 1.5.6
Now I just installed 1.6.1 hoping the issue was resolved and it is not. ??
So, my question is what has changed in repetier or Slicer that is no causing my printer to over extrude.?
