Connection Problems Win10

Greetings!  I've been using Repetier in one form or another since my Solidoodle days - 2013.  I've run across this problem before, but it seemed to correct itself with a reboot or prog restart.  Not this time.  I have an Ender 3 Pro 3+ years old using Repetier V2.3.2.  A week ago all was well.  Yesterday I started to make some Mother's Day stuff. The printer would connect, but wouldn't respond to the Bed or Extruder heat commands.  Today it won't connect.  Com ports busy.  I have 4 com port options available - Auto, 1,5,3.  It won't connect to any.  I have a laser printer that connects to port 5 with no problems.  The laser is totally disconnected at the moment.  I used to connect the Ender to port 6, but today, that's not available.
Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanx

  • If Ender always shoed up at port 6 and now not it is not detected by windows any more. You can try a different usb port in case the port is defect or different usb cable. Also you could check hardware manager to see if a com port appears/disappears when connecting the printer. That would mean it is at least visible even if it appear in undetected hardware which would be odd since it worked before.
  • Well... I think I'm going to reformat my entire Winbloz machine.  It's been at least 10 years without a reformat.  I believe it's the computer.  This morning I had com ports 1, 5, 3.  This afternoon without touching anything, I have 1, 5, 6.  It still won't connect.  I have tried other printer software like Prusa, cura and the like.  They all see the printer but won't allow any commands.  I'll have to D/L your Mac version and give it a shot.  I'll keep you posted.
