How to change Icon- and Textsize for Touchscreen on Raspberry PI
I ran into the problem that I wanted to change the inconsiderate (and textsize) on my Repetier-Server Touch Ui.
I guess there are some folks as me ther, that are no native Linux users that also could not find the parameter or menu to do this.
After quite some reading, graying und research I found that it is relatively simple (as always if you know how! I could not find a configuration option within Repetier server - because it is not where you might suppose it is.
The hole procedure takes just e few minutes (if you know how to do it)
1) install repetier server as usual and find out the IP adress of the Repetier Server (I.e. 192.168.0111)
2) open terminal on any computer in the same network (on a Mac search „terminal“ with spotlight) and open it
3) connect to the Raspberry PI via ssh (there is no way to do this on the PI itself!)
in terminal type:
ssh pi@192.168.111 (ssh pi@your-IP)
and press Enter
pi is the username
at first login ther will be a text warning that you haven’t changed the standard password. Just type
yes
and press Enter
and you will proceed
4) a prompt „password“ will pop up. Enter the ssh password. Standard is
raspberry
You can change this to the ratio of your choice, I.e. 1.5 for 150% iconsize. Mind that there is a dot between 1 and 5 (not a komma).
9) finish the editing by pressing the right arrow and pressing the „back“ button.
10) your back in the main menu. Press right arrow again and choose „finish“ .
You will be prompted that the PI will reboot now.
After the PI has rebooted check the result and find out if the icon-/textsize pleases you.
you can change the size as often as you like until you find „your“ best layout. I tested from scaling factors 0.5 to 2.0
You sure will find your preferred size after some tries and if you changed your mind you can set the scaling back to 1.0 and everything is back like default.
I hope, that helps you to find the solution to this layout problem quicker than I did
