Setting up Slic3r fails - perl-local unexpectedly quits

I have just printed a new design using Repetier-Host 1.2.1. Slicing with Slic3r went just fine. Now I want to adjust the settings, and Slic3r setup crashes. I set up a new mac some time ago using the old one as source. So all the software and settings files were copied from the old machine.  I have not adjusted the settings before now.

Reinstalling Repetier-Host did not help. Any ideas?

  • Slic3r as well as Host on Mac is discontinued. Better run Repetier-Server on mac for print management and Orcaslicer to slice your files. The roots go back to slic3r but it is very much improved.
  • Thanks, I didn't realise that Host was discontinued! I have just checked for updates and happily registered that "Repetier-Host Mac 1.2.1 is currently the newest version available."

    I will look into Server.

Workaround for changing settings is to edit the ini-files. I did that yesterday, but didn't see that finder was hiding the extension. So my new .ini-file was in reality a .ini-copy-file and therefore not recognised by Slic3r.
