Cannot login

Hi Guys,

Twice I have tried this without success.

I'm running Repetier-Server on an old laptop that I've got Linux Mint installed (LMDE 6). I'm running free edition until I can prove to myself its worth investing in a paid version. At the moment I only have 1 printer - Afinibot that I got from Aliexpress. I do have plans to expand to additional printers but don't want to invest in something that won't work for me.

I add the printer and set up all the parameters and everything seems okay on the server side. But from Host on my desktop I could not connect to it because it didn't have an API key. The ONLY way I was able to get an API key was to register a user on the server (old laptop) and I HAVE to enter a username and password (which I save). Then I get an API key from the user profile and enter it on Host on my desktop and I do a print which seems to do okay and I close down for the night.

The next morning I come in and fire up the old laptop and the Afinibot, but using the exact same username and password, it gets rejected by server (although my credentials are perfect) and I cannot log in. So, following instructions found somewhere (I think in the manual), I delete the "/var/lib/Repetier-Server/database" directory and start again, which, again, works fine. I shut down again and go to bed (because I've spent the whole day on this !!).

The next day, I come in again and exactly the same thing happens - my credentials get rejected and I cannot log in.

Please somebody, HELP!!

  • Please do never delete /var/lib/Repetier-Server/database it contains much more not only users. To remove users delete only /var/lib/Repetier-Server/database/users after stopping RepetierServer service. It is important that server is not running when deleting files or result may be unexpected e.g. corrupted user database.

For host connection you do not need users. Go to global settings->connectivity and use the global apikey instead.
