Description or instructions before files list in Projects

As my husband sometimes starts my printers for me, he sometimes ignores the information I put into the instructions fields because he just goes for the files. It would be awesome to have an option to enable these fields to show up above the files so he can't help but see them. Instructions would especially be useful for me but I can see use cases for others where either field may be useful.

  • You mean the noted field in summary?

I do not see that I add them in regular view. What I can think of is making it available as computed expression variable job.note so you could if filled in show a blocking dialog with cancel/ok to ensure the notes are followed. It would then show the dialog and wait until the dialog is finished. No way to oversee that.

No I mean when you open a project you have the separate tabs for Files, Description, Instructions, and Comments. Having the option to show at least instructions above the files would help those who aren't as familiar with the software quickly find any specific instructions for the project.

It's more for when I specify to scale things in a specific way or print a certain number of parts so that he can slice it for the correct printer if I have not already made the Gcode for that printer. Some of our files have a TON of parts and he's printed a few without adjusting them or too few of others.
  • Ok, I understand what you mean. Actually this was the case in the past and we decided to move to tabs for a cleaner view where you can reach the files faster, which is where most want to go. So I'm sorry, but I cant do that.
