Cannot connect printer

Hi to all. I am new so please bear with me. I have Repetier Server Pro running on Pi. My Ender 3 Pro is up and running fine. However i cannot connect to my Geeetech A10M on Marlin 1.1.8. It connects fine with Octoprint and Repetier Host etc. I know the Baud is right and port is right and ive set the /dev/serial/by-path but comes back with error saying no understandable response on this port.

Any ideas?

    Set ping pong to yes and it connected.

    Great that it worked. Also if ping pong works without it should also start, just being faster and cause less timeouts on errors. It just changes handling of command sending no physical connection parameter.
