Updating Repetier Firmware to 1.0.1 breaks Repetier-Informer

After upgrading firmware to 1.0.1 I no longer get Repetier-Informer messages.  I found the following error in the Octoprint log:

SSLError: HTTPSConnectionPool(host='informer.repetier-apps.com', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /api/1/message.php (Caused by SSLError(CertificateError("hostname 'informer.repetier-apps.com' doesn't match 'download1.repetier.com'",),))

How do I fix this error?

    I've updated to OctoPrint 1.3.6 recently too.  It might have been that.  Anyway, re-installing the Informer plug-in gives me the following error:

    Do I need a fresh install of OctoPrint at this point to get a newer version of Python?

    We did not write this plugin, so I can't say why these errors happen. Best would be to open an issue in the plugins github repository.

    To me it looks like some python library has problems with it's https implementation. Server has several certificates for same ip which requires a different protocol then the early way where each Ip could only handle one certificate.

    I found out that I had an old version of OctoPi which used an older Python library.  Switched to current OctoPi and everything works again.
