SD Card Filename

Can the host be updated to include the full filename from the SD Card. I have all my filenames set to a specific naming convention that I find useful. (i.e. - [materialtype]-[color]__[Original Filename]). The full names show on the printer screen and in my server list, so not sure why we can't get the full filenames from the SD card.

The abbreviated filenames pulled from the SD card make it nearly impossible to determine what the file actual is.

Host shows filenames reported by firmware. As far as I now repetier-firmware shows there also the long name if possible. What firmware do you use?

I'm using the Prusa 3.1.0 firmware. On the printer screen, it shows full filename

We show the filename we get from firmware on sending M20. We accept any size but prusa seems to show reduced size here. Not sure if there is an option to force them to long filename, but http://reprap.org/wiki/Gcodes#M20:_List_SD_card does only mention parameter for RepRapFirmware here.

it shows to get long name on Marlin is possible. If I read that right.

What a complex solution for a simple problem. Why can't they just return the list as full name. I have to see if I can see if the firmware supports this. To make it more complex mk4due uses the same gcode to stop printing so if I add that blindly these users say hey print stops if I check sd card:-(

I agree, not sure why long file name isn't just standard now and is the default return. Thanks for checking on what can be done.
