Internal Server Error (500)

I have everything setup and ready to go and when I get ready to start my test print no matter what I do or what .stl file I use I get an error as in the title along with "RepetierServerConnector.ServerPrint.PreviewCallBack".

The full error reads "httpWebRequest,EndGetResponse, and RepetierServerConnector.ServerPrint.PreviewCallBack"

How can I fix this, what is the exact error?

This is an error that occurs when host queries the gcode preview image.

Can you see the images in the web frontend?

If you see the images what are the exact steps to reproduce it? Did you slice and upload for printing or select existing gcode on server for printing ...

Sliced and upload for printing, it is when I click the upload button from the server tab that I get the error.

When I try to slice and print straight across there is no print button highlighted.

Okay let me just go this route maybe it'll help better.

I am using a TRONXY P802MA printer, the printers firmware is Marlin, it has a 220mm x 220mm x 240mm print area.

I set it up in the server frontend settings with that information.

Have I set it up wrong? Should I set the firmware as Repetier Firmware instead?

The frontend states that my printer is not connected and I do not see the images in frontend.

Marlin only works with marlin firmware. I do not think it is the configuration of Printer that is the problem here.

If you select the printer in frontend and have uploaded gcodes and select icon view instead of tabs you should see images for the gcode files or a info image. If that does not happen something is wrong. In that case check the server.log in server data directory for your os. It might contains some error messages hinting why you get no images.

On what device does the server run?

The server sends gcodes and I see you uploaded some stl and windows drives zipped as gcode. This will not do any good and should show a gray image. YOu can delete these non gcode files.

To be clear gcode is the result of slicing your models!

These non gcode files seem also to cause further errors as they are not what is expected. Please try with gcodes and check if that works better.

I tried with the gcodes created after slicing and still get the Reading Preview Data: System.Net.WebException: The emote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.

I uninstalled both the host and server files and installed on older version of host and server, using the skeinforge slicer program I have no errors, but does it usually take over an hour to go through the Run Job setup?

The item is a small ring and it has now been running for an hour an 20 minutes, the gcode is 49 layers and ends with 7319 M107 and M7319 is blank, the log is running N8775 M105 at 17:27 Mdt.

What the hell is wrong with this?

Skeinforge is the oldest and slowest slicer available, so please do not wonder that it is slow.

can not imagine why a slicer should add 7319 times M107 as M107 is not used anyway. You should use slic3r or CuraEngine as slicer and avoid skeinforge.

So does it mater if I select Delta or Cartisian as the type of printer?

I am not sure what the difference is between them let alone what my TRONXY P802MA_8 printer would be....

Delta printers have a round bed, but that makes no difference in data being send or gcode generated.

Okay so now the issue is the server continues to show the printer off line, I have set the fire wall to allow the server and host through and have all the information on the ip address and port and so on identical.

I get an image in the 3d view and a line with two dot (red and blue) on the 2d view, however the server doesn't read the printer as active/online and the host doesn't read the command to print.

Is there anything else I can do to get closer to printing?

Check in web frontend:

- Printer context menu - is it activated (showing deactivate as option).

- If activated go to configuration and make sure port, baud rate and firmware are correctly set. Then it should connect on save. firmware and port should be clear. Baud rate might be different from what you expect. Try 115200 and 250000 being th emost popular.

Okay so the "offline" is the one showing when I click the little monitor icon, does this mean it is online and ready to print?

The manual for the printer says the baud rate is 115200, ports are all accurate.

What software has a monitor icon?

In web frontend it must be green to allow printing. Red is no connection and white is deactivated needing activation. Make that work first and then continue to host.

The Repetier Server has a little monitor like icon, when I click on it, it says disconnected.

I have checked all the wiring and everything is as it should be but the server doesn't register the connection.

I have no problem getting host to connect, just the server.

I wish I could upload screen shots to help show what I am talking about....

You mean the printer icon right of home? That shows offline / online and deactivated but not disconnected.

For images google "picture upload free" for an upload service so you can reference the image here.

Make sure to use right firmware in server. Repetier will not work with marlin for example.

I got it working, now it is all on the extruder not using the filament.
