Split Object is grayed out in v1.6.0

Split Object is grayed out in v1.6.0.

Do I need a different version to do that? Thanks

    It is not split object, it is view split. It is only selectable once a object is selected.

    No, I want to "Split Object", because the object is too tall.

    OK, I thought about the other function.

    This split is for stls conatining of several objects e.g. a set of chess figures. These can be split with that function. It can not split a single shell into subcells. Use Meshmixer for this.
