How to prepare parts for mixed colors printing?

Hi,

I ve been searching a lot about mixed colors printing.

I am about to buy a diamond hotend, and I read carefully this article. http://reprap.org/wiki/Repetier_Color_Mixing

I just wonder how to color the parts to be extruded, like to obtain a result like Kharar got on that part: http://www.thingiverse.com/make:194938

    You need a STL file for each color. If you have only a stl for one color, you need to split it manually with software like meshmixer. Then you import all parts and move them into one group (drag file onto an other file in host object placement to merge them) and set for each part the color and slice.
