Radds + raps128 Delta optimal advance settings

Hi everyone!

I was playing with the
advance mechanic settings and I was I little confuse… Everything print well but
there is probably an optimal setting set for the radds and raps128 combination.

So what are you guys settings,
I am talking here of :

DELTA_SEGMENTS_PER_SECOND_PRINT

DELTA_SEGMENTS_PER_SECOND_MOVE

DELTASEGMENTS_PER_PRINTLINE

STEPPER_HIGH_DELAY

STEP_DOUBLER_FREQUENCY

PRINTLINE_CACHE_SIZE

lowTicksPerMove

….

thx!

    PRINTLINE_CACHE_SIZE 24

  • Thank you so much! I
am having one more related question. What is you maximum achievable speed without
losing step? I know there is a lot of variable but I can’t get pass 100mm/s is
    it normal. Here’s my setup

    Stepper : 640 step/mm

    motors  : 92 oz-in, 200step/rev

    The stepper voltage
    potentiometer is is at max.

    Ps I am currently
printing well at 9000 mm/s2 and 100mm/s. (home made printer)

    Merci!

  • I can run 200mm/s without loosing steps. If I go towards 500mm/s I start loosing steps on small problems. Key for high speed is

    - Good current setting. Maximum is not always the best. RAPS can deliver 2.1A and that might be too much for some motors reducing force.
    - Moderate jerk.
    - Moderate acceleration. I normally accelerate between 1000 and 1500mm/s^2

These parameter create extra forces that can cause loosing steps if you exceed limits. Slow motors are stronger so what works with slow speeds might fail at higher speeds for that reason.
