Option To Queue Files From The Projects Menus

I would love to see a feature added to Repetier Server in which you had the option to queue files for printing from the projects menu.

Currently, if you send a gcode file to a printer and the printer is idle, the printer will start automatically. We are currently running a farm of 15 printers and sometimes slice/queue files to multiple printers at a time. If we had to the option to queue a print on an idle printer instead of it starting automatically it would save us a great deal of time.

Also, with this feature people in the front office could take orders, and queue them to the back office without the worry of starting a print with the wrong color filament loading saving them from physically going to see what filament is loaded in a particular printer. The people running the back could simply walk up to each printer and check it's queue for the colors needed.

Also, can you imagine the back office technicians surprise when he is working on a printer and the bed and nozzle start heating.. lol.

Anyways.. Just thought I'd throw it out there and see what everybody thinks.

  • Good news is that we already wrote this for next update:-) You can now select print or queue. Print is only available if it is not printing, but of course object might still be on bed.
  • You are the best, thank you for such a robust software. <span></span>
