Status of print jobs does not show on another machine running repetier host

I'm running v. 2.1.6 in a win10 64bit environment.  If i start the job from another machine i cannot see the status, layer info, etc of the running job from another pc.  I recall this used to work, perhaps I am wrong?  I am including a screenshot of what I see on the other machine. As you can see it is aware of the job, shows the layer # is it on in the log at the bottom as well as ETE.  The image is below, it appears I cannot embed it.

  • Can't see the screenshot which seems to be private.

But host never showed layer for progress only ETA/ETE.
I think you mix that a sit is on same screen. When you select a gcode you see the infos like layer count in server tab. But that is not because it is being printed, but just because you selected the gcode that you then started to print.
  • Thank you for the response.  So to clarify this info in server tab is never populated, even on the initiating PC?  Or it only is when you load gcode via the server web UI?    What do you mean by "selected the gcode"?   I also noticed the Print Preview tab is the same is the same way (No info populated on any pc that didn't initiate the job)  If this isn't populated is there anything perhaps in the works to view the status of the job in the print preview and server tab on another pc running host on the same LAN as you would from the workstation that initiated the job for?  if I go the server web ui the info is there so I would assume it's doable and maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Here are working links as to what i'm referencing just in case what I am asking isn't clear.:
    Server tab

    Print Preview tab

  • Yes images are correct and supposed that way.
I see you print directly so there are no gcodes in server tab visible. If you instead upload the gcode first it would appear in server tab as file to be selected.

The preview tab shows a preview of the file loaded into the editor of host. Since you do not have one loaded it is empty, so that is also correct. That will also not change since it is the job.

For remote watching the server you should use the official gui - open browser with http://ip:3344 and you will see all you want to see even without host and even on your mobile if it is in same network.
  • Thanks, yeah I do use the server web ui when i'm offsite but was hoping to use host to display this info when I'm using different pcs on my LAN.  Love this software and this is not a deal breaker but given the data is available on the webui  it'd be a nice feature to somehow have the data populated into the print preview tab from server into other machines that open host.

This data is what I refer to as being available and possibly importable into host.

  • No as I said the host tab you showed is preview of host editor and has nothing to do with the print. Even if you print with host this can differ if you load a new gcode after starting the print.
