Cant connect to the printer raspberrypi2

edited July 2020 in General
Hi! After boot an raspberry pi i has disconnected printer from repetier-server. In log connected i can see:
Mesg:21:55:01.329: Dtr: true Rts: true
Mesg:21:55:01.330: Connection closed by os.
Mesg:21:55:03.133: Dtr: true Rts: true

I add some logs into attacheed files.
Repeiter-server 0.94.1 on raspberrypi 2
If i reconnect the USB port it work or sometimes. Reboot not work.

pi@Repetier-Server:~ $ lsusb
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 1a86:7523 QinHeng Electronics HL-340 USB-Serial adapter - it is the board i think.

  • What color does the bolt in main menu have? Closed by os means linux disconnected the printer and undervoltage is a frequent reason for the pi to do that and the bolt color indicates that you had or have undervoltage if color is orange or red. In that case you should use a better usb power unit and make sure it is NOT a charger - chargers are normally not stable enough.

    You meant it? see pic
If i change the USB cable it may be will work?

  • Oh. I can see that the motheboard is broken. It not work on my laptop too.
  • I change the motherboard on srk mini v1.1 (with fresh marlin firmware). And now i have reconnect after PID autotune. If i do the motherboard is disconnect. See logs.
  • Please use ping pong mode for the test so it is easier to see which action belong to which command for the test.
also there is no option to attach files so no log to see. Copy the relevant part plus some lines before/after into the editor here.

    Sorry. There is the log.

  • Seems to be private bin - it requires user and password.

Hm. It work fine for me.
After PID autotune i can connect to the motherboard. It is bug from Marlin firmware may be?

  • If you check the log you see that for the M117 you got a ok but the M303 started and but there are onky a few temperatures and never an ok so it was not finished or did you remove some lines here.

then there was obviously a diesconnection - was that you or did the printer this on it‘s own.
Then on reconnect i see no printer response and a new disconnect. So question again you or does something go wrong?

I can see that the printer have disconnect. I have not see the temperature. And i can not see Kp Ki and Kd for save to EEEProm.

  • I see you should remove modemmanager which interferes with serial.
    sudo apt remove modemmanager
  • Your syslog does not cover the time of the log so there is no connection visible also i saw that linux did reset the serial. Main question to solve here is if linux disconnectes due to power problems or if it is your firmware.

Are you on 0.94.1? There you should see if you get undervoltage from time to time in the bolt icon. That would be a sign that linux does disconnect and you could e.g. disable powering the printer over usb to solve this as shown in our faq.
