Server bricht mitten im Druck ab

Hallo,

eben hatte ich das Problem, dass der Repetier-Server mitten im Druck abbricht. Das System läuft auf einem RPi 3+ ohne Oberfläche. Der Drucker is ein Prusa MK3. Die Netzwerkverbindung zum Server ist via Ethernet. Repetier Server ist die aktuellste Version.

Das ist mir nun  schon das zweite mal passiert. Der Drucker bleibt einfach stehen. Woran kann das liegen?

Bin für jeden Lösungsvorschlag dankbar. Falls weitere Infos benötigt werden, kann ich diese natürlich auch nachliefern...

  • Bei welcher server version tritt dies auf? Und welche Architektur armel oder armhf wurde verwendet? 

    Es scheint ein Fehler bei der Speicherfreigabe zu sein, der dazu führt. Wenn ich die exakte Version kenne müsste ich über die Adresse herausbekommen können wer der Übeltäter hier ist.
  • Hab zum test mal ein paar adressen abgefragt und die des Servers sind alle deutlich kleiner. Ich vermute daher das diese zu einer bibliothek oder gar linux selbst gehört. Ich fürchte daher das ich damit direkt nicht die Ursache finden kann. Ich muss wissen wer was auch immer aufruft was dann schief geht, muss also den Fehler reproduzieren können um die Ursache zu finden. Daher noch ein paar Fragen:
    - Hast du zum Zeitpunkt irgendwas besonderes gemacht? Pause, Funktion aufrufen, ...
    - Hast du das Über einen Browser überwacht? Mit webcam? Welche ansicht?
    - Was gibt

    Wenn ich die version kenne will ich prüfen ob die Datei beschädigt ist, auch wenn ich das nicht denke.

    - Wie groß sind die Drucke? Passiert das schnell und jedes mal oder eher gelegentlich alle x Stunden?

  • Dann lege ich mal los:

    Zu dem Zeitpunkt des Abbruchs war ich im Web-Interface. Glaube auf der Seite WebCam/Zeitraffer. Ich habe versucht eine Zeit einzugeben, was über die Tastatur scheinbar nicht möglich ist. Gibt man z.B. mit der Tastatur 10.0 ein und übernimmt das, dann scheint das erst mal gespeichert zu sein. Verlässt man allerdings die Seite (z.B. auf "Drucken" oder "Steuerung") und kehrt zurück, dann steht wieder der alte Wert drin. Macht man es über die Pfeiltasten im Eingabefeld, dann scheints zu gehen. Allerdings wechseln die immer nur auf n.1 Sekunden, also 1.1, 2.1, 3.1 usw. Weiss nicht, ob da evtl was in den Busch läuft...

  • Ok, hab noch mal einen längeren Druck laufen lassen, aber bei mir ist nichts passiert. Auch nicht als im Timelapse die werte geändert wurden. Ich hab daher einen Artikel geschrieben, wie man den Fehler im Debugger finden kann:

    Leider etwas technisch und benötigt Kommandozeile, aber dafür kann es jeder der eine ssh Verbindung hin bekommt. Problem ist, das manche Fehler nur bei bestimmten Druckern, timings, Rechnern oder Konfigurationen passieren. Das hier könnte so ein Fall sein, denn ich bekomm ihn nicht zum absturz. Wäre daher echt super wenn du es versuchen könntest nach dem start den Debugger zu verbinden und ihn dann zum Absturz zu bringen. Ich weiß nicht wie häufig das bei dir passiert, aber im sinne der Fehlersuche hoffe ich hier mal schnell.

    Bei Kommazahlen must du , nicht . im Browser verwenden. Insbesondere wenn du in chrome die Spinner für Inkrement siehst. Dann ist das ein HTML Input für eine Zahl und das Format hängt von der Sprache des Betriebssystems an. In Deutsch halt gewöhnlich , weil wir so fließkommazahlen schreiben. Übernehmen wenn ein . dann vorkommt klappt auch nicht - das führt zu einem Fehler der allerdings im Server abgefangen wird auch wenn er sagt es wurde übernommen. Das muss ich unbedingt noch verbessern in einer späteren Version.
  • Wie gesagt: Ist mir erst das zweite mal passiert. Ist also einer dieser Fehler die nicht so leicht zu reproduzieren sind. Ich bin ebenfalls Software-Entwickler (ich schreibe Software für die Forschung und Industrie) und weiß wie ärgerlich das ist...

    Werde aber dran bleiben und mich melden wenn ich näheres weiß. Alles in allem mag ich die Software sehr. Bis auf einige kleine Schönheitsfehler (z.B. die Werteingabe wie oben beschrieben) läuft das Teil auch echt super. Wenn man die Eigenarten der Kommunikation mit dem Pruda MK3 zu handlen weiß, dann ist die Druckerei im Normalfall ebenfalls sehr stabil...

  • Wir planen uns auch einen MK3 anzuschaffen, weil er a) Irgendwie anders ist da die sehr viel Entwicklung machen und b) weit verbreitet ist. Aber das dauert noch etwas.

    Da man uns nach 4 Wochen noch nicht die Bude deswegen eingelaufen hat, scheint es wirklich ein seltener Fehler zu sein. Kannst du das grob benennen alle wie viel Druckstunden das so passiert. Nur damit ich eine grobe Idee über die Häufigkeit bekomme.
  • Ja, der MK3 ist - abgesehen von den Software-Eigenheiten - eine echt guter Drucker. War anfangs skeptisch, bin aber mittlerweile ein totaler Fan dieses Druckers. Extrem leise und extrem zuverlässig. Das die Software kontinuierlich weiter entwickelt wird sehe ich eigentlich auch eher als Vorteil. Natürlich können sich immer mal wieder Bugs einhschleichen. Aber man muss ja nicht immer gleich die neueste Firmware laden und kann erst mal das Feedback der riesigen Community abwarten.

    Zurück zum Problem:

    Ich habe auf der Version jetzt etwa 50 Stunden "echte Dauer" (laut Verlauf des Druckers). Ich hatte das Problem einmal zwischendurch und eben gestern. Durchschnitt also 25 Stunden :-). Genauer kann ichs leider nicht benennen. Allerdings habe ich auch einiges am Linux-Server gemacht, allerdings keine tiefgreifenden Sachen.

    Ich werde einfach weiter beobachten und mich wieder melden wenn's nochmal passiert. Ist aber schon fantastisch das man so einen tollen Support hat. Ich habe - trotzt den zwei Aussetzern - noch keine Sekunde die Investition in den Repetier-Server bereut...

    Hallo,
     ich hab leider das gleiche Problem und das auf mehreren Instanzen von Repetier Server auf unterschiedlicher Hardware und völlig unterschiedlichen Standorten/Netzwerken:

    * Repetier Server 0.93.0 auf Raspberry Pi 3 B mit Rasbpian Stretch + mit Original Prusa MK3S mit Firmware 3.8.1 (Gerät #1)
    * Repetier Server 0.93.0 auf Odroid XU4 mit Xubuntu + mit Original Prusa MK3S mit Firmware 3.8.1 (Gerät #2)

    Ich kann absolut nicht reproduzieren unter welchen Vorraussetzungen das eintritt. Lediglich festgestellt habe ich, dass es mehrmals ca. 5% vor Ende des Drucks passierte (jeweils nach ca. 3-4 Stunden Druck). Also nach ca. 95% Fertigstellung.

    Auf beiden Servergeräten läuft der aktuellste Kernel

    journalctl -u RepetierServer.service logs sagt nichts fehlertechnisches aus

    Allerdings: Die Drucker bleiben dann jeweils stehen und das Web Interface zeigt dann nichts mehr an:

    das Problem nervt absolut, da es einfach zu teuer und instabil ist, um langfristig damit weiter zu arbeiten. Mir ist das nun innerhalb von 2 Wochen ca. 5 mal passiert auf 2 3D-Druckern.







  • ps: ich nutze Repetier Server seit ca. einem Jahr. Die Abbrüche verteilt auf ein Jahr würde ich auf ca. 20-30x schätzen. Nur, dass ich es vorher nicht so recht eingrenzen konnte

  • Schwer zu sagen. Sieht ja aus als ob der server noch da ist aber nicht mehr antwortet als ob was blockiert ist. Wenn es wieder passiert kannst du ein volles backtrace entsprechend dieser Anleitung erstellen:

    Wenn es ein hänger ist erlaubt es mir die Ursache so zu finden und zu beheben. So mach ich das auch immer in meinen Tests wenn es auftritt. Manche dieser Fehler treten nur selten und unter speziellen Bedingungen auf und sind daher nicht ohne weiteres reproduzierbar.

    ich schau mir das Linux tracing an und melde mich zeitnah wieder :)

    also ich habe das gdb installiert, mich in den Prozess gehängt, das Logging angeschalten und folgendes ausgeführt (im
    Zustand, als das Frontend sozusagen nur noch so halb erreichbar ist, weil diese Websocket-Verbindung weggeflogen ist)

  • by the way habe ich den Eindruck, dass das Problem seit der Prusa Firmware 3.8.1 gehäufter auftritt. Ich weiß aber nicht, ob das im Zusammenhang steht (USB-Verbindung / Serial) ?
  • Super. Ich konnte die Ursache mit dem Backlog klar bestimmen und für das nächste Update (kommt in kürze) beheben. Es ist ein klassisches dead lock und kann passieren 5000 Zeilen vor dem Ende des Drucks. Kommt hier echt aufs timing an, weshalb es auch so oft klappt. Hat aber nichts direkt mit der Firmware zu tun. Maximal das sich dadurch das Timing hin zum Fehler geändert hat, aber die Ursache ist klar im Server.

  • Ok neues release wo zumindest dieser Fehler weg ist ist raus:-)

    Sollte er irgendwann noch mal so einen Hänger haben ruhig wieder backlog schicken. Aber zumindest ist derzeit kein anderer bekannt, was mich beruhigt:-)
