duial extruder iis hitting table

for some reason this configuration is causing both of my extruders to drag on the bed.

Even though their is no leveling outside of manual. Have stopped the z min so they the extruders have a clearance of at least the thick paper thickness.

When i go to print the extruders drag across the bed and dig in when printing starts.  Does not seem to matter what the bed height is it does this regardless.  Down now to the aluminum sheet,   even after removing my bed sheeting which was at least an 1/8 of inch it just keeps dropping and dragging?

Comments

  • So you say you have no z probe and no autoleveling enabled? Then it will not move z while moving so if it is ok at home position and starts dragging I would say the bed is rotated at the other 3 sides. You need to level manually all edges.
  • guess i will pull out the adjustment spring about 20mm length to see if the z access drives up again.

  • You can also simply go up with z before testing and not more at z=0.
  • well uncertain what is happening here
the original height  3/16"  higher with clearance of paper under the extruders at home
and it was banging the heads onto the bed so i removed the 3/16th and still slams the extruders down
which has to mean the z bed is coming up?

the Z is supposed to me down not Up at my corexy is fixed at the top
so iremoved the bed entirly for the time to test the dual setup

Confirmed that  both extruders motors, heaters and and thermisters are working one at time.
however the t2 sensor location onthe ramps thermister reads 200 on lcd and the host

tested both thermisters on T0 (t0, t2) read ambinet 25-26 degree c but only on T0

Found a quote from 2014 might explain why it wont heat (no temperature reading on duel extruder hotend)
Repetier: OK, I think I know what is going on. Some boards do not have enough outputs like RAMPS, so fan pin and extruder 2 pin are the same. So fan will disable heater. To solve this, disable fan feature or set fan pin to a different pin if possible.

according to the other person he changed both pins to 9 instead of Pin2
still no idea why i cant read T2 on T2 sensor Thermister is good.
so i will try that maybe that will fix this issue

  • what happens if you send following lines :

    G28 Z
    G1 Z0 F500
    G1 Z1 F500

    ?

Whats your homing direction ? Zmax or Zmin?

  • uninstalled all software anduino and Repetier
    reisntalled software

made a clean configuration with one extruder download set
    installed and uploaded
For some reason not a number in the firmware file?
download on another computer got numbers now (that is still very weird) win7

removed everything bed springs washers and spacers plastic bed tape etc...
reset the z axis to home measured to the top of the 3 Z mounting plates
base is 1/8" the springs are 20mm the spacers are 3mm and the washers are 0.8
last time i measure the setup was about 2mm to the nozzle.

reinstalled the spacers on the bottom spring fits over them (centers) no washers reinstalled so 20mm then the z bed 3.75mm and remeasure room for the plastic bed still have about 2.5mm to the end of the nozzle with the plastic bed No tape no paper no bed linear.

level the bed on the spring mounting with only 1 thumb nut on each mounting plate (allows for an oops moment)
reset to 1 extruder in firmware and host
    working again.

the to & T2 while everything works cant get the t2 to read anything other then 200C ?
gave up on that and ordered a 3 in one multi color extruder
only needs 1 thermister one heater and the new issue 3 extruders ramps 1.4  only supports 2 arrg
    thanks everyone for the help
    recoush

when i get the new extruder will open another question on which board supports the 3 extruders
    and has removable drivers
  • recently discovered that the cause of the hitting table was the Z min endstop had broken in such away as to not be visible and each time it made the contact it moved up Hence hittng the table :>)
it's the little things that get you :>)
    thanks everyone
