and here is my mono version (i've tried to update it as last one was 4.2):

Got a SIGSEGV while executing native code. This usually indicates
a fatal error in the mono runtime or one of the native libraries
used by your application.=================================================================

That looks like initializing OpenGL causes the crash. Don't you have OpenGL installed?

  • I confirm that openGL is installed:
    famille@famille-GA-990XA-UD3:~$ glxinfo | grep -i opengl
OpenGL vendor string: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: AMD Radeon R7 200 Series

    OpenGL ES profile extensions:

  • ... and still have repetier crashes at startup
  • Which doe snot mean I know why. My linux version is still working fine. Mono 4.8 on ubuntu 17.04.

Only thing I could think of is wrong graphic mode. Since it crashes in OpenGL context creation it might not find the right context. It wants a true color context with double buffering. So make sure you have true color active, which is standard nowadays.
  • I finally tried to installed repetierHost on the same computer but with a fresh and new admin user created (As I don't know why it could'nt work ...)
.. and now the crash seems to be for a diffrent reason :

problem of font missing ? (I checked Arial font is installed)
    thanks for your help!
  • Never had to install a font on linux. Main font used is "Microsoft Sans Serif" and "Segoe UI". Are these also there or have a alternative font binding.
  • edited May 2017
none of them are installed, should I find a way to install them ?
  • Just checked my fontlist and I also do not have them. So there must be some font name conversion for mono winforms that works for me but not for you. But I have no idea where that would would happen since I never had missing font problems. Maybe install current mono from their homepage as full package assuming that the relevant part is included. On ubuntu mono is split into quite some packages so it is easy to miss one.
  • OS  Fedora 25
    Repetier-Host  2.0.1

I upgraded to 2.0.1 and was able to start it. I loaded a file and when I sliced it with the included Cura  the Repetier-Host crashed.  Now when I try to start Repetier-Host I receive the following error.  I see the outline of the Repetier logo but just the rectangular outline and then it closes. I have tried to completely uninstall the mono environment, then re-install  it. I have also uninstalled and re-installed Repetier-Host

  • You have created some part double and that crashes now when registry is read:
System.ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added.

To solve it check ~/.mono whcih is the mono registry. and find software/Repetier and delete it, then host starts as setup new.

I guess you have added CuraEngine twice with same name in slicer manager which causes that problem. Will check to if that is still possible and prevent it.
  • Thank you. Removing the ~/.mono/registry/software/Repetier folder solved the problem.
