Printer extruding filament when no print is happening

I have a Monoprice Maker Select 3d printer (which is a rebranded Wanhao Duplicator i3). I just set up Repetier-Server on a Raspberry Pi 3 (not using the pre-built image), and it has a strange problem. At some times when it is not printing, it extrudes filament. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?

  • Please enable logging and check if server is sending extrusion commands. It should only when you hit a move extruder button. I have not programmed to print when idle.

I think marlin moves extruder when extruder is hot on it's own. So could it be that? Also hot extruder ooze a bit even when not extruding.
