Unable to connect ender 3 error com 1 does not exist

So needed to purchase a new pc and now unable to get repetier to communicate to ender 3 printer

Is there printer drivers needed
Or can you help me

On windows you need a printer driver so port appears. If that is the case can be seen in hardware manager. If a device appears as unknown device it is missing otherwise it appears under com ports and you see which com port it got - must not necessarily be COM1. Windows 10 knows a lot of serial devices, but not all.

It show as unknown so how do I get the drivers or get it to know that the printer connected..

Use the matching one for your Operating System. For Windows 10 64 Bit its https://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM%20v2.12.36.4%20WHQL%20Certified.zip

Just an FYI - for the Ender 3.x and specifically the Pro and 2.0 series the CH341 chipset is used, all this means is that you need the CH340/CH341 drivers for your computer. You can find them at any safe certified download location, my unofficial suggestion: http://www.wch-ic.com/download/ch341ser_exe.html

Download, install the drivers and then make sure the printer is detected correctly in Device Manager, you will be good to go after that.
