Discovered when using: Repetier-Firmware configuration tool 1.0.4 the Eeprom.ccp is encoded as UTF and Arduino does not like the resulting characters, to resolve this load Eeprom.ccp into Notepad++ select the all the text (ctrl+A) then select Convert to ANSI in 'Encoding' - save and enjoy
