Repetier Works for me. Please check if you also have defined a skirt wich is also added. A skirt with distance looks like brim but is not influenced by adhesion type.

MartinH So with skirt distance 0 you are printing a 15mm wide skirt at 0 distance from your object (this will look just like a brim).A skirt is usually just a single line at a few mm distance for priming the nozzle.
