Calculated / actual printing time

Hello

I am using Cura for slicing and facing the following strange phenomena:

1) Actual printed time is about twice than the calculated printed time (by Cura)

2) Double printing velocity doesn't cut printing time by half. It cuts it by 20%.

Any idea why?

Repetier

Each system has it's own time calculation, so they differ a bit. Host has a quite simple where it assumes speed you tell for print plus some percentage for acceleration. If if print using repetier-server then server does time calculation that is based on acceleration as well to be more precise.

Double velocity in host printing - if you mean multiplier set to 200% halfs printing time when you are at start of print. If you do it over server you might hit maximum speed limit defined.
