Offset changing...???

Is it common for the offset to change on its own??
Last night I sliced and printed, while I think the temp may have been too high, it did print.
Today I tried to slice a new set (I am printing a drag chain), using the same settings as last night, this time I seem to be too high, the filament gets laid down instead of pressed. I am getting really confused here, just about the time I think I am making progress, something changes...????

No, offsets do not change on it's own. Only if you send a command to do so.

Whcih offset are you talking about? Z axis? That also depends on mechanics that may change e.g. if bed is removeable or z endstop is not 100% repeatable. Depending on the system some deviations are normal.
